The Marlborough School is a mixed comprehensive for boys and girls aged 11 to 18.

Our school has strong links with our local community and, as a Church of England school, we are involved with local churches and other faith groups. As a specialist school in Business and Enterprise, and Humanities, we have developed links with local businesses, industry and universities which create a wide range of extra opportunities for our students and the community.

From the Head Teacher

head

The school you choose for your child will have a major impact in shaping his or her future. As Head Teacher I am only too aware of the responsibility I share with you when you entrust the education and development of your child to the care of our school. I can state with confidence that we strive to ensure that all children enjoy their education and achieve their best.

At The Marlborough School young people thrive, learning to work together in a community where their opinions are valued and their success and well-being are our first concern. Our students achieve excellent results in their KS3 SATs, GCSE and A level examinations and we are rightly proud of them.

We are equally proud of the enormous range of wider achievements of our young people, in sport, the creative arts and in their personal development.

Our 2005 Ofsted report judged students’ personal development as ‘outstanding’. We think that the confidence and encouragement which we give to our students helps them to achieve success within and beyond the classroom.

We believe that listening to students and parents about the kind of school and education that they want is important, and is one of the reasons that we are such a successful school. The Marlborough School encourages the development of supportive relationships between students, and teachers and teachers and parents. We have a very strong personal development curriculum as well as an exciting and innovative academic curriculum.

We look forward to welcoming you to our school .

Julie Fenn, Head Teacher
