Your child will be bringing home information and nomination forms regarding Parent Governor Elections.  Five of our seven Parent Governors will be reaching the end of their term of office on 31.3.2010 and so we must hold an election.  The governing body has an extremely important role: it is responsible, as a corporate body not as individuals, for strategic planning, policy, staff appointments and finance, amongst other things.

Parents or anyone who has parental responsibility for a pupil on the school roll at the time of the election can stand for election, can nominate someone for election and can vote in the election. See the information sheets for further details or contact:
Carol Crow, Clerk to the Governors, 01993 811431 ex 203 cac1892@marlborough.oxon.sch.uk.

Secondhand Uniform

In the interests of promoting our sustainable school and recycling project we are collecting good condition second hand uniform. The proceeds from second hand sales will go to The Marlborough Sports Fund.

It is important that second hand uniform is in very good condition, clean and ironed, and will most probably be items that pupils have grown out of and therefore hardly worn. We would be grateful if you could deliver any items to the Bursar's Office in the school. Thank you very much.

MS Office

Microsoft Office

All school computers are now installed with Microsoft Office 2007 - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher. Although helpful to have these packages at home, they are not necessary for pupils completing school work.

Works is a word processing package that comes free with many new computers. Open Office is a word processing package that is available to download free from the website http://openoffice.org. To make documents in these two packages compatible with MS Word, any documents must be saved 'as file type' .doc or (if available) .docx.

An IT room*, resource bases and the library are all open at lunchtimes for anyone to use the computers to complete work. (*not open Wednesdays because of electives)
