Record Results at the Marlborough School
I know that a lot of schools seem to trumpet their results as the ‘best ever’, but this year’s A Level results for us here at Marlborough are genuinely the best set of outcomes we have ever achieved.
Over a quarter of all grades achieved were A*/A, with over half of all our grades being either an A*, A or B. Our overall pass rate was 99%, and our average A Level grade was a B – all of which represents a significant achievement for any school, but particularly for a comprehensive and inclusive Sixth Form such as ours.
Of course, behind these headlines are amazing stories of individual success. It is humbling to see how delighted our young people are this morning – seeing the results of their hard work, dedication and ambition realised. With over 90% of all students achieving their first choice of university place, there were lots of happy young people and their parents here today.
Our destinations were strong across the board, with our students achieving places at Russell Group and other top universities, alongside quality apprenticeships in the Civil Service, Child Care, Business, Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Accountancy – we are equally proud of these achievements.
Our more able students have, once again, excelled. These include Amy Broome, Zoe Brown, Eleanor Chambers, Shade Dean-Alegre, Fergus Dyer, Daniel Eeley, Daisie Leach and Grace Williamson-Beare who between them achieved 27 A* and A grades.
I am grateful for the support of all our parents and carers in helping to secure these outstanding results. I also recognise the determination, skill and passion of all our teachers that has helped the students to do so well.
We are proud of all of our young people and what they have achieved. We wish them all the very best for the bright future that awaits them.
