Marlborough Students Exceed Expectations

The long wait for GCSE students is over and we are once again celebrating tremendous results here at The Marlborough School. The Year 11's have performed extremely well in all key measures, exceeding even our highest predictions by producing some amazing outcomes.

The great results achieved today only come after years of dedication, hard work and wonderful relationships built between teachers and students. This excellent performance is a real team effort and we are proud of all our young people and their families.

The overall headline results are as follows:

  • Percentage of students achieving English and Maths at Level 4 and above: 77%
  • Percentage of students achieving a Level 4 or above in English: 84%
  • Percentage of students achieving a Level 4 or above in Maths: 80%
  • Attainment 8: 52.83

These results show that Marlborough is a school where you can fulfil your ambitions and where we can compete academically with the very best schools in the country. Students across the board have performed well, but our most able students have, once again, excelled. There are a significant number of students with all grades 7-9, and 15 students achieved 4 or more grade 9's in their subjects. These are:

Ben Davies; Sophie Grimshaw; Rosie Ihringer; Abigail Johnson-Brett; Pip Cox; Theo Lonsdale; Mariana Riollett; Emma Saville; Emma Shaw; Freya Smith; Charlotte Suckling; Jacob Taylor; Hannah Wallace; Georgia Worsfold; and Joe Worsfold.

Well done to all our students. Building on the success of our A Level results last week, we look forward to welcoming a really strong cohort of students into our Year 12 next year.

To the students leaving to go to College or an Apprenticeship, we wish them all the very best for the future.
