Modern Languages
Students study both French and German in Year 7. At the end of the year, they can then decide to focus on one of their languages in Years 8 and 9 or they can carry on studying both. Students are encouraged to take a language at GCSE and they can also continue their studies of French and/or German in KS5.
We have a long-running German Exchange programme with a school in Cologne.
Key Stage 3 (Years 7, 8, 9)
Introduction to language learning and development of grammatical understanding and knowledge of vocabulary. Steady development of the four main linguistic skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing.
Key Stage 4 (Years 10 & 11)
French and/or German (GCSE)

Specification: AQA GCSE in German 8668
Specifications can change between Year 11 and Year 10, so please double-check with your teacher.
