Oxfordshire Youth Chemistry Conference

On Thursday 20th November, nine Year 12 Chemists attended the 5th Oxfordshire Youth Chemistry Conference, an annual event hosted by Wychwood School. Students were invited to present either a talk, a poster or a paper based on the theme ‘The Chemistry of Tomorrow’.

The students shared their work with students from 13 other schools across Oxfordshire as well as watching talks from scientists working at the Diamond Light Source from the Harwell Science campus and Flurok. 

All nine students researched, wrote and fully referenced their work and got a feel for attending an academic conference. A special mention to Sophia and Bella who gave excellent 5 minute presentations on their topics and also to Megan who received a prize for her poster.
