Year 13 Celebration

During the first week of May, we held two very special events which celebrated the success of Year 13 during their time at The Marlborough School, and began our process of saying goodbye to them, as they start their exams and look ahead to exciting university and apprenticeship destinations.

Leavers' Service: On April 29th, the whole of Year 13 walked together to St Mary Magdalene Church, in Woodstock, for a Leavers' Service, led by our vicar Reverend Sarah Bourne. The service included readings and poems from staff and students, and we sang hymns accompanied by a talented Year 13 pianist. The students were all given a candle with 'Let your light shine' and our school logo inscribed; a fitting memento for them to remember us with.

Leavers' Assembly and Sports afternoon: On May 1st, the Year 13 students led their own assembly, with some brilliantly planned quizzes and awards; which saw the whole cohort coming together in friendship. Following this, the students enjoyed pizza and drinks in the Sixth Form garden, before enjoying an afternoon of sports, which included egg and spoon and sack races, and some very joyful competitive spirit!

Once the exam period is finished, we have another event to look forward to, which is our Leavers' Celebration Evening at Blenheim Palace on June 23rd. This is always a fantastic evening of photographs, speeches, music and supper, and is the perfect end to the students' hard work through this term.
