Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Expedition
Back
What a difference in weather conditions from their practice expedition, when 67 of our Year 9 Bronze DofE students had their practice expedition cut short due to a storm with high winds. On Thursday, April 23rd, the conditions could not have been more different; glorious sunshine shone down on them as they arrived in Abingdon, ready for their two-day assessed expedition.
The transition from the "Great Storm" of their training to this week’s beautiful weather was a well-earned break from the elements, though the heat brought its own set of challenges for those carrying heavy packs! The teams showed impressive technical growth as they navigated through the historic streets and surrounding greenery of Abingdon. Beyond the physical trekking, our students truly embodied our core school values of Ambition, Perseverance, and Respect, throughout the two days.
A massive thank you to the staff and volunteers who made this possible, and well done to our Bronze adventurers!
