Year 13 Leavers Assembly May 17th

Year 13 celebrated the end of their time at The Marlborough School on the afternoon of Friday May 17th, with an assembly, followed by a picnic of pizza delivered to the school, and then an 'old fashioned sports day.'

In the assembly, each tutor group had devised something to present to the rest of the cohort. One group produced a quiz of baby photos, a mix of students and teachers. One group ran a quiz remembering different classes, teachers and events from throughout the last seven years. Another challenged everyone to guess 'whose is this favourite song' and another made a film which shows which university or apprenticeship everyone is moving on to next year. It felt really nostalgic and very special, remembering all the happy times and experiences they've had together.

The school had ordered pizzas, and as it was such a sunny day, students sat with their drinks and pizza boxes out on the field. After that we moved on to a range of really fun sports; egg and spoon race, sack race, 3-legged race and tug of war. There were lots of interform races, and the Year 13's even challenged Year 12 to a tug-of-war competition over lunchtime.

The whole event was joyful, and reflected the wonderful cohort our Year 13's have been for the last seven years.
